Is it a country? Is it a continent? No, it’s Australia. All that flora and fauna you can’t find anywhere else in the world, almost all of which can kill you if you look at it wrong, that mad, alien topography of the Bush, and so much beach that you might think they invented the word. The greatest coral system in the world. The most handsome cities, populated by salt-of-the-earth people with the healthiest respect for beer. And food. And fun. This is one long schlep that will make it up to you ten times over.
Peak Season Description:
Days are warm and sunny (with occasional showers that disappear quickly), and this is the most festive time in Australia (Christmas and New Year holidays as well as Australia Day). Beaches and hotels are full, flights expensive, and trips and excursions sell out very quickly, so book well in advance.
Shoulder Season Description:
Days are still bright and sunny, and much drier compared to the summer months, but now there is a welcome dip in temperature as Australia goes into autumn. This is a wonderful time to visit, when the tourist crush is busy, but not as heavy as peak summer. April - September sees the North opening up with cool temperatures and dry days.
Low Season Description:
Australia's 'winter' season; the weather is still gorgeous with bright clear days, comfortable temperatures and mildly nippy nights. Things slow down a little in the south. It's still a great time to travel, weather-wise, with the added advantage of more value rates and lesser crowds, although certain entertainment and activities may be reduced. Up north, wildflowers are in bloom, and strong coastal winds will disrupt access to reefs for diving.

When to go description:
With very few exceptions, there is always a good time to visit Australia at any time of the year. Low seasons can work best for those wishing lesser crowds and better prices. A shoulder season is often the best time to visit, weather and accommodation-wise. Conversely, the peak season can be the most crowded and expensive times of the year.
