Best Time To Visit Chile

With very few exceptions, there is always a good time to visit Chile at any time of the year. Low seasons can work best for those wishing lesser crowds and better prices. A shoulder season is often the best time to visit, weather and accommodation-wise. Conversely, the peak season can be the most crowded and expensive times of the year. Always check with your travel expert; their advice on when to go to Chile is invaluable.

Peak ( Nov - Feb )

Chile's summer months, perfect in every way for its beautiful cities, wine country and the wilds of Patagonia. Accommodation will be full with locals and foreigners both traveling at the same time, thronging to all of Chile's myriad attractions, so book early.

Shoulder ( Mar - Apr , Sep - Oct )

Autumn and spring are the nicest times to visit Chile. Days are beginning to warm up all over; the Atacama Desert and Lake District come into their own. Wine country is gorgeous in March and April is perfect for Torres del Paine, with its profusion of wildlife.

Low ( May - Aug )

Winter in Chile still sees activity, particularly the ski-resorts where it is peak season. The cities will experience cold, and sometimes rainy days. Visitors to Patagonia trickle off, as many hotels shut shop in these months. Chile still offers itself as a year-round destination, but please check with operators about certain specific activities.
