Best Time To Visit Madagascar

With very few exceptions, there is always a good time to visit Madagascar at any time of the year. Low seasons can work best for those wishing lesser crowds and better prices. A shoulder season is often the best time to visit, weather and accommodation-wise. Conversely, the peak season can be the most crowded and expensive times of the year. Always check with your travel expert; their advice on when to go to Madagascar is invaluable.

Peak ( Jul - Sep )

Perfect weather for traveling: warm, dry and sunny days. The lemurs and other indigenous wildlife are out in force, including Humpback Whales around Ile St. Marie. A very busy time as well, as Europe enjoys its school holidays, so book early.

Shoulder ( Apr - Jun , Oct - Dec )

A time of downpours, interspersed with bright sunny days. April to June is the period just after cyclone/rainy season, making the landscape lush and bountiful. A great time for wildlife spotting. October is when the vibrantly purple jacarandas bloom. December is busy due to holidays, especially over Christmas.

Low ( Jan - Mar )

This is cyclone season, when most hotels and activities shut shop. A time of storms and excessive rains, so best avoid traveling at this time.
