    Day 01 : Arrival in Anchorage

    Welcome to Alaska!  Arrive in Alaska’s largest city, Anchorage. Utilize your hotel's courtesy shuttle, which will transport you to your accommodations for the evening. Check-in to the Anchorage Lakefront for some rest and relaxation.

    Day 02 : Anchorage to Knik River Lodge

    After a leisurely morning, enjoy a beautiful one hour drive down the Glenn Highway to the Knik River Valley (89 kilometers). Wind along the Chugach Mountains and the swirling waters of the Knik River to the world class Knik River Lodge. Tucked into the mountains and just a short distance from the base of the mighty Knik Glacier, this lodge offers a spectacular view of wilderness outside, from the deck of your private deluxe cabin.

    Day 03 : Knik River Lodge

    Alaska is home to some of the largest glaciers on earth. Today you explore this magical landscape by helicopter. Take off directly from the front lawn of the lodge, and within moments you will see the Knik Glacier. Zoom low over the surface and see turquoise melt pools, vertical walls of ice and immense crevasses. The helicopter lands in the middle of the glacier where the ice is up to 1000 feet thick. After the helicopter shuts down, you can explore  the area with your pilot/guide. Return to the lodge for a second night’s stay.

    Day 04 : Knik River Valley to Anchorage

    Following breakfast, this morning you will head back to Anchorage (approximately 1-hour drive). Upon arrival into Anchorage you are off on an adventure down the Seward Highway, a national scenic byway, for an afternoon of mountain tops and wildlife.

    Your Alaskan guide will take you down the Turnagain Arm to the small ski resort town of Girdwood. It’s here that you will ride the aerial tram to the summit of Mt. Alyeska to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Alaskan wilderness. The next stop is the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. This rescue center is home to bears, a musk ox herd, a wood bison herd that was once thought to be extinct, moose, elk, caribou, and more.

    This afternoon, enjoy lunch at a local eatery in the town of Girdwood where you’re sure to see some local culture. Your day will conclude in Anchorage at your local accommodations, the Lakefront Anchorage.

    Day 05 : Departure from Anchorage

    Today you bid farewell to the Last Frontier as you prepare for your departure out of Ted Stevens International Airport. Enjoy your transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight.

The northern Alaskan coast consists of mainly tundra and barren regions; whereas the central regions of Alaska are of boreal forest and the southeast coastal regions have coastal forests.

Alaska has several species of wildlife; mainly bears, polar, black and brown, as well as caribou, moose, mountain goats, bison and other mammals.
