    Day 01 : Arrival in Anchorage

    Welcome to Alaska! Arrive in Alaska’s largest city, Anchorage. Utilize your hotel's courtesy shuttle, which will transport you to your accommodations for the evening. Check-in to the Clarion Suites Downtown for some rest and relaxation. If you have time and energy, get out and explore Anchorage today, and take advantage of your complementary Alaska Heritage Pass. This pass will allow you admission to both the downtown Anchorage Museum and the Alaska Native Heritage Center.

    Day 02 : Anchorage to Nome

    This morning you will head back to the airport for a commercial flight to Nome, Alaska. Upon arrival into Nome, your local guide will greet you, and it’s off to the community for an introduction to the vital hub of Northwest Alaska.

    You will take a step into the history, life and culture of a community living in the ultimate Alaskan Frontier. Witness the daily lives of the individuals that call the Far North home, and the bonds they share with the surrounding culture, landscape and creatures that reside here. Following your tour of Nome, check-in to your accommodations at the local Dredge No 7 Inn.

    Day 03 : Nome

    Today is yours to explore everything Nome. Take your private vehicle to travel across the 3 roads surrounding Nome. The surrounding Nome area offers plenty to see and do.

    Optional activities:

    • Visit the Park Service Education Center for great, in-depth insight on the surrounding park land and especially the Bering Land Bridge National Preserve.
    • Explore Anvil Mountain and the historic “White Alice Site,” part of the military systems used during the World War 2.
    • Search the surrounding tundra for the local wildlife, such as Musk Ox.
    • Visit Salmon Lake and see spawning salmon.
    • Go on a drive to Teller for a firsthand look of a local native village and a stop at the last Iditarod check-point, the Safety Roadhouse.

    Day 04 : Nome to Anchorage

    This morning it’s time to say good bye to Nome. A private transfer will take you to the local airport for your flight back to Anchorage. The afternoon and evening are free for you to take in our largest city.

Climate

Alaska experiences an extreme of temperatures, with hot summers and bone-chilling winters.

The northern Alaskan coast consists of mainly tundra and barren regions; whereas the central regions of Alaska are of boreal forest and the southeast coastal regions have coastal forests.

Alaska has several species of wildlife; mainly bears, polar, black and brown, as well as caribou, moose, mountain goats, bison and other mammals.
