    Day 01 : Arrival in Anchorage

    Welcome to Alaska! Arrive in Alaska’s largest city, Anchorage. Utilize your hotel's courtesy shuttle, which will transport you to your accommodations for the evening. Check-in to the Clarion Suites Downtown for some rest and relaxation.

    Day 02 : Anchorage to Seward

    It’s an early morning as you board the Alaska Railroad Coastal Classic Train, a local favorite that winds through the stretch of wilderness between Anchorage and Seward. As you journey along the Turnagain Arm, keep watch for Dall sheep, high on the cliffs that hug the highway and for beluga whales in the currents below. A string of massive glaciers is visible from the track and enriches the journey as you near Seward.

    Following your journey down to Seward, explore Kenai Fjords National Park today with a wildlife and glacier cruise. Ideal for the adventure-seeker, naturalist, and whale-watching enthusiast, a day out in the park allows guests to experience this pristine habitat.  After your adventure out on the water, visit the local shops and restaurants that prepare some of the freshest Alaskan seafood. Overnight in Seward at the Harbor 360 Hotel.

    Day 03 : Seward

    Enjoy time today on your own and discover this historic port town. At your leisure, make a stop at the Alaska Sea Life Center for an up-close view of the marine life that call this region home. Visit the local shops and restaurants that prepare some of the freshest Alaskan seafood. Head out for a walk along Exit Glacier, learn how this magnificent chunk of ice has affected the geology, biology, and even the weather in beautiful Resurrection Valley. Hike through a history book of nature as you make your way up to the face of this stunning glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park.

    Day 04 : Seward to Anchorage

    After a relaxing morning, you’ll begin your journey back up north to Anchorage as you take the Seward Highway in your own rental vehicle (2.5 hours, 205 kilometers). Enroute Anchorage, make a stop at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a non-profit facility that is dedicated to conservation, education, and quality animal care of Alaska's wildlife.  

    See some of Alaska’s iconic wildlife species up close.  The Wildlife Conservation Center takes in injured and orphaned animals year-round and provides spacious enclosures and quality animal care. Animals that cannot be released into the wild are given a permanent home at the center. Upon arrival into Anchorage, check-in to the Clarion Suites Downtown for your overnight stay.

    Day 05 : Departure from Anchorage

    Today you’ll bid farewell to the Last Frontier. Return your rental car to the Ted Stevens International Airport today when you depart.

Climate

Alaska experiences an extreme of temperatures, with hot summers and bone-chilling winters.

The northern Alaskan coast consists of mainly tundra and barren regions; whereas the central regions of Alaska are of boreal forest and the southeast coastal regions have coastal forests.

Alaska has several species of wildlife; mainly bears, polar, black and brown, as well as caribou, moose, mountain goats, bison and other mammals.
