    Day 01 : Arrival in Granada

    Arrive at Malaga airport and board your private transfer to Granada, the city of the Alhambra (1h 30m). Our representative and tour leader will receive you at the arrival hall and escort you to your hotel in Granada.

    After check-in, you will be taken on a short orientation walking tour (1h) to get acquainted with the city. You will explore the Albaycin Moorish quarter, constructed on a medieval town plan with cobbled streets and small squares, where you will visit San Nicolas viewpoint, which offers magnificent views of the Alhambra, Granada and Sierra Nevada.

    Your tour guide will take you to some of the most authentic tapas bars in town to savor traditional dishes and immerse yourself in the culture and traditions.

    Day 02 : Granada

    After breakfast, our tour leader will take you to Alhambra, where they will introduce you to your local English-speaking art historian guide, who will show you the Alhambra Palace and the Generalife Gardens (2h 30m private tour). On a rocky hill, on the banks of the River Darro, protected by mountains and amongst the eldest quarter in the city, the Alhambra rises up like an imposing castle with its distinctive reddish stone. The Alhambra ranks among the world’s finest examples of Islamic art with carved cedar-wood, infrequent stucco work, and gorgeous mosaics. Originally designed as a military area, the Alhambra became the residence of royalty and the court of Granada in the middle of XIII century.

     

    After your private guided tour of the Alhambra, you will enjoy a nice lunch at the Parador terrace, with breathtaking views of the Generalife Gardens.

     

    After lunch, you will walk down into Granada City Center to meet your art historian guide yet again at Plaza Isabel la Católica to discover the historical, architectural, and cultural richness of Granada City Centre.     Day 03 : Granada - Montilla - Cordoba

    After breakfast, check-out and board your private transfer to Cordoba. Today, you will explore a very unique area between Granada and Cordoba: The wine region of Montilla-Moriles.

     

    First, you will be visiting a local family olive oil mill to learn about the extra virgin olive oil production and taste two of their delicious offerings, along with freshly baked bread. Afterwards, it's on to a local family winery located right in the heart of the vineyards of Montilla Hills. You will learn the whole process of the unique "sherry" wines from this area (one of the oldest in Spain) and also taste 5 different varieties of wine, followed by a traditional homemade tapas lunch cooked by the winery owners.

     

    After lunch, you will be driven to Cordoba, where you will check in at your hotel in the Jewish quarter. You will have a bit of time to settle down and rest before going on a short guided orientation walk along the riverside to get acquainted to this ancient city of Roman origins.

    Day 04 : Cordoba

    After breakfast, meet your local English-speaking art historian guide for a guided walking tour of Cordoba including a visit to the UNESCO-listed Mosque/Cathedral, the Jewish quarter, the synagogue, and the Royal Palace (3h). The tour will finish at the Julio Romero Museum (the Old Charity Hospital from XVIc), where you will have some free time to visit the museum on your own and admire the amazing artwork of this Cordoba painter. He was a good representative of the symbolism style and became particularly famous for his erotic paintings.

     

    Lunch will be served at the famous “Bodegas Campos,” a traditional Cordoba house with courtyards and a private wine cellar.

     

    Your afternoon is free to relax back in the hotel or do some shopping.

     

    In the evening, your tour leader will meet you at the lobby of your hotel to take you to the Royal Stables to enjoy an incredible and unique equestrian show. This emblematic and historical building was founded in 1570 by King Felipe II, a great horse lover with the dream of making a pure Spanish thoroughbred.     Day 05 : Cordoba - Almodovar del Rio - Sevilla

    After breakfast, check-out and board your private transfer to Almodóvar del Río, where you will have a guided visit of the well-preserved 8th century Moorish castle (1h 30m). The Almodovar Castle sits above the town of Almodovar, on top of a sheer-walled monolith, which is why it can only be seen from a large distance. It offers spectacular views over the entire Guadalquivir Valley. The fortress dates back to Roman times, however, the current construction, was built by the Arabs in 760. The Castle has always been important to the city of Cordoba, since its strategic location contributed to ensuring the city’s security.

     

    After the guided visit to the castle, you will be driven to the nearby Hornachuelos Natural Park for a lovely lunch at a local restaurant, which specializes in grilled meat and vegetables and offers spectacular views of the Bembezar river.

     

    After lunch, continue on to Sevilla. On arrival, check in at your hotel.

     

    You will have a bit of time to settle down and rest before going on a short guided orientation walk in Sevilla to discover some of the main landmarks of the magic capital of Andalucia: Jardines de Murillo, Plaza de España, Mª Luisa Park, Alfonso XIII hotel, the Torre del Oro (The Golden tower) and the riverside of the Guadalquivir.

    After breakfast, meet your local, English-speaking art historian guide and embark you on a guided walking tour of the historical center of Sevilla, including the Barrio de Santa Cruz (the old Jewish quarter with a labyrinth of tiny alleys and white houses with traditional Moorish courtyards), the Reales Alcazares (an active Royal residence boasting impressive gardens and fountains from the XIV century) and the great Cathedral (the third largest Gothic cathedral in the world). The tour will finish at the Giralda tower (Cathedral's bell tower), where you can walk up to the very top at your own pace (3h).
